Mark your diaries as the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery will launch its next exhibition, Paper Scissors Rock, on Sunday, 8 December 2023.

The exhibition will cover ‘paper’ and its contemporary use in various art mediums such as collage, drawing, installation, jewelry, painting, photography, video, and sculpture.

“Paper as a material is at its simplest ordinary, unpretentious; it is functional and efficient. And despite our existence in the ‘digital age’, paper remains a persistent part of our day,” the announcement indicated.

“Perhaps because of the ‘possibilities of paper’, particularly in the hands of the creative and inquisitive mind, can be simply extraordinary.”

The following artists who are part of the Paper Scissors Rock exhibition are Jumaadi, Tony Albert, Peter Burke, Tracey Clement, Anna Davern, Todd Fuller, Deborah Kelly, Jaki Middleton and David Lawrey, Mylyn Nguyen, Niomi Sands, Louise Paramor, Sangeeta Sandrasegar, Jemima Wyman, Zoe Veness, and Tianli Zu.

The upcoming exhibition will succeed the Hawkesbury Now: Art Fair, an annual Gallery exhibition featuring different creative works by local Hawkesbury artists, such as drawing, painting, printmaking, woodwork, and more.

The official opening of the exhibition will be at 6:00 PM. It is free of charge, and light refreshments will be provided, while reservations can be made online via Eventbrite: Exhibition Opening – Paper Scissors Rock.

Paper Scissors Rock will be held at the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery, Deerubbin Centre, located at 300 George Street in Windsor.
