Jessica Peake and Jude Ahmad were named the new Youth Ambassadors, while Lachlan Russell, Sujneet Kaur Johal, Jaskaran Singh Johal, Annika Sanker, Himaja Manishi Dave and Vanessa Valensise were announced as Youth Champions.

As Youth Ambassadors, Jessica and Jude will act as the voice for young people in The Hills Shire.

The 12-month role includes involvement in local youth activities and Council community events, speaking at appropriate Council functions, attending youth award functions and being an active participant in and providing direction to the Hills Youth Army.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said it’s inspiring to see future leaders stepping up and making a difference in The Shire.

Mayor Byrne also commended past Youth Ambassadors on their immense contribution to our Shire including 2016-2017 youth ambassadors, Claudia Chow and Thomas Kelly, for the incredible work they have done over the past year.   “I also want to acknowledge Cassidy-Rae Wilson – Youth Ambassador for 2015-2016 and our current Youth Choir Administrator – for all her time and effort,” Mayor Byrne added.
