One Tree Reach Wetland
Just a 15-minute drive from Wisemans Ferry, along Singleton Road, is the beautiful but little-known location of One Tree Reach Wetland.
This freshwater wetland on the banks of the Hawkesbury River is a popular destination for bird watching and features a nature trail, boardwalk and interpretative signs.
The boardwalk starts from near the small carpark area and meanders through swamp mahogany forest and floodplain paperbark scrub. A viewing platform overlooks the main body of water that supports a diversity of bird species including White-faced Herons, Sacred Kingfishers and Purple Swamphens. Black Swans are also often spotted in the wetland sometimes together with their cygnets.
One Tree Reach has another track from the carpark that leads to a quiet picnic area making this secret spot well worth a visit.
