The outdoor pool at Oasis Aquatic and Leisure Centre in South Windsor opened for the 2017/2018 summer season on Saturday, 23 September 2017. Swimmers can also enjoy the upgraded indoor pool. The indoor pool’s lining has been replaced and there is a new finish on the surface of the lap pool area, making it a more comfortable swimming experience.
The $180,000 Council-funded project included the refurbishment of associated plant and equipment, painting and repairs above the pool as well as repairs to the spa and the spa ceilings.
Managed and operated by YMCA NSW for over ten years, the Centre now boasts a brand new timber sprung floor and ceilings in the group fitness room, an overhaul of the female and male bathrooms, the provision of family change rooms with baby change tables, and new individual ‘on pool’ hall showers.
One of the most extensive changes is the pool filter and heat pump upgrade to ensure the cleanliness and temperature of the outdoor pool.
New facilities for visitors with disabilities include a cold filtered water dispenser which is wheelchair accessible and skydome lighting in the bathrooms. Outside the building, the improvements include a grassed area, shade sails and a gently sloped path for visitors with a disability.
Membership at Oasis Aquatic and Leisure Centre offers full access to all facilities including a fully equipped Health Club comprising of small group training classes, Les Mills group fitness classes as well as the pool, sauna and steam rooms. A crèche, personal training and boot camps are also available as additional services.
Entry to the pool is $5.70 and for a child $4.20. A family pass is $18.50 (up to two adults and three children), and spectator’s entry is only $2.00. For children aged five and under, a parent needs to be within arms’ reach at all times. Oasis Aquatic and Leisure Centre is located at the corner of Church Street and Drummond Street, South Windsor.
