North Kellyville roundabouts designed to ease peak pressure

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Councillor Yvonne Keane, has announced that two temporary roundabouts will be constructed in North Kellyville – designed to assist with traffic flow and improve safety in the interim until permanent solutions are built.

One roundabout will be constructed at the intersection of Withers and Barry Roads. Another will be designed for the intersection of Hezlett Road and the Barry Road bypass, subject to discussions with the developer of North Kellyville Square Shopping Centre.

Mayor Keane thanked residents for their engagement with Council on a range of issues important to their new community, including the need for traffic solutions at these locations.

“North Kellyville is an incredibly engaged community and people are passionate about making their suburb a great place to live,” Mayor Keane said.

“This is a fantastic new area with iconic homes, brand new shops and more families moving in every day, and we understand it takes some time for new release areas to finish all the construction work necessary.

“I’ve been listening closely to what people have to say and it has been a pleasure working with residents to find solutions.

“The new roundabouts are a start. I want to assure residents we are busy acquiring land and planning to upgrade the roads over the coming years.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank all North Kellyville residents for their patience and persistence.

“Together we have already achieved so much. We have created a unique identity and name for this incredible area.

“We have achieved the construction and near completion of three brand new open spaces and have plans underway for more. And we are addressing pressure on local roads,” Mayor Keane added.
