New Sydney Hills Youth Ambassadors Announced

I am so pleased to announce that our new Sydney Hills Youth Ambassadors for 2023/2024 are Eva Pulvirenti and Deanna Stevens.

Eva has been a member of The Hills Youth Army for several years and wishes to promote inclusivity and event participation in the shire. Deanna is a welfare leader at Marian College and is passionate about gender issues and education programs.

Over the next 12 months, Eva and Deanna will participate in community events, speak at Council functions, actively participate and give direction to Council’s volunteer youth group, The Hills Youth Army, and promote youth activities within schools and the community, such as Youth Week celebrations.

I also want to congratulate outgoing Youth Ambassadors Rebecca Yu and Hayley Mogilin for all their hard work. Over their 12-month ambassadorship, they pulled together a series of events and workshops aimed at helping young people boost their public speaking confidence, as well as ways to improve their mental health, including journaling, yoga and meditation.

Thank you to our Youth Ambassador finalists – Krish Nair, Samuel Cummins, Charini Samarasinghe, Aditya Ravi and Deema Arraf. Each applicant had an impressive resume, and their devotion to community service was outstanding.

The future of the shire is in great hands, and I can’t wait to see what all of our youth do next.
