New playground underway at Barry Road Reserve

Construction has begun on a new playground at Barry Road Reserve in Kellyville.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said she was pleased work was now underway on the children’s playground, which will also feature a bespoke shade structure, seating and bubbler.

“This exciting new playground will cater to the surrounding residents, providing a fun and interactive play space where families and friends can come together, have fun and create memorable moments,” Mayor Byrne said.

“The park was designed with families at the forefront – our main demographic in this Shire and the ones who will use this modern recreational facility.

“It also provides a place where locals can get active close to their homes whenever they want, while promoting a healthy lifestyle.”

Barry Road Reserve playground is expected to be completed by June 2018 with weather permitting.

“Council is proud to invest in more local playgrounds so families can lead a happy and healthy lifestyle and feel part of a more connected community,” Mayor Byrne added.

The playground works are part of a bigger Council project for the site, which will see a detention basin built and more landscapes works being completed at the Reserve in the near future.
