Friday the 19th of May is National Walk Safely to School Day and I’m encouraging residents to participate in this initiative, which aims to raise awareness about health, physical activity and road safety.
The Hills Shire has more than 100 kilometres of cycleways and pathways, with more active pedestrian links on the way to allow more opportunities to walk, run and cycle.
Most recently, we completed a pedestrian pathway outside Annangrove Public School. The new footpath makes it much easier and safer for children, parents and teachers to access their school, homes and parked cars along Annangrove Road. This great outcome has been achieved thanks to the Annangrove Public School P&C, Council and the NSW Government through a Get NSW Active grant.
