Mayor’s Christmas Library Fine Amnesty – a heart-warming success

The 2022 Mayor’s Library Fine Amnesty was a resounding success with an extraordinary 1483 items donated to the annual Christmas appeal. As a result of the initiative, 217 long overdue items were also returned to the shelves of Hills Shire libraries.

The donations have been given to Anglicare for their Mobile Community Pantry, which provides food at a low cost to help those who need to stretch the budget.

Mayor of The Hills Shire Council, Dr Peter Gangemi is elated with the success of the initiative and is thankful for the generosity of residents.

“It is truly remarkable and heart-warming to see our residents coming together to make a difference for those in need this Christmas,” Mayor Gangemi said.

“These donations will make a significant contribution to the efforts of our friends at Anglicare for their Mobile Community Pantry.

“I am thankful and proud of our residents’ generosity, and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and happy New Year,” Mayor Gangemi added.
