Mayor Patrick Conolly Injured in Break-In

Hawkesbury Mayor Patrick Conolly was injured in a home invasion at his Bligh Park home in the early hours this morning (Monday, 16th May). His wife and four children were not injured but were shaken by the incident.

Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command were called to the Mayor’s home near Windsor at about 12.45am after reports that several men had forced entry into the home.

The 32-year-old Mayor was stabbed in the arm during the reported home invasion which police believe to be a case of mistaken identity. The Mayor was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

Police have been told five to six men forced entry into the home and threatened Councillor Conolly before he was stabbed.

The men then drove from the scene in the family’s white Skoda, taking a few personal items from the home.

Initial inquiries have led police to believe the incident is a case of mistaken identity.
