Man, 40, hospitalised after truck crash in Windsor Rd, Vineyard
Two trucks collided on Bandon Rd and Chapman Rd at Vineyard at about 12:30 PM on Thursday, 20 June 2024.
Emergency services such as Fire and Rescue NSW were called immediately, as the truck soon became ablaze, filling the air with black smoke.
The NSW Ambulance tasked the Mounties Care Careflight Rapid Response Helicopter to attend to the crash scene.
The Onboard specialist doctor and paramedics attended to a man in his 40s for multiple injuries. He was then transported via road ambulance, accompanied by the CareFlight medical team, to Westmead Hospital.
He is currently in a serious but stable condition.
Live Traffic (as of 12:43 PM) advises the community to avoid the area: “Windsor Road is closed in both directions at Bandon Road/Chapman Road due to a truck crash and fire.”
“You can use Garfield Road East, Garfield Road West, Richmond Road, George Street and Macquarie Street as an alternative,” Live Traffic suggested.
Transport NSW and crew are also on the scene as they salvage and clean up the debris.
Careflight commends and is grateful to the NSW emergency services such as Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW SES, NSW Police Force, and NSW Ambulance.
“We are proud to work together with such awesome organisations to save Australian lives,” Careflight says.
