Major Halcrows Road Repair Stage 1 Now Completed
Stage one of the major Halcrows Road repair and rehabilitation project has now been completed
The $750,000 works were required after the road was used as a detour route by a higher level of trucks and general traffic during the July 2022 flood.
The first stage involved stabilisation of 2.5km of Halcrows Road, recycling the existing pavement and strengthening it with additives to provide a stronger more durable pavement.
The final stage two works, are planned to commence in early 2023 and will include further asphalt patching on the remaining sections of Halcrows Road.
“While there is still more to do on Halcrows Road, I am proud to see progress being made to return the road to a standard that our residents have been calling for.
Thank you to our local residents for their patience during the works and thank you also to the State Government who supported the project with a $458,071 grant under Transport for NSW’s Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangement.” said Hills Mayor Dr Peter Gangemi.
