The Lynwood Junior Open is just one of many junior golf activations the Club has invested in for 2022 and beyond. The team at Lynwood has a passion for nurturing and developing junior golfers from the grass roots up and has the facilities to cater to any young golfing enthusiast.

In addition to Lynwood’s Junior Golf Academy, It also provides opportunities for children to attend weekend junior clinics, one-on-one coaching sessions and 7-day access to their driving range.

General Manager of Golf and Country Club, Matt Bailey, said “Growing the game of golf in the Hawkesbury and Hills region is a focus of CHRG and Golf and Country Club as the sport of golf continues to gain momentum in our communities.

Golf is rapidly growing as a sport of choice for many children, so much so, that Lynwood’s Junior Golf Academy, run by Head Golf Coach Blake Dowd, was expanded in mid-2021 to cater for up to 30 junior golfing scholars.”

Lynwood’s Junior Golf Academy consists of a four-tiered scholarship system, catering to children of all ages and levels of experience – from beginners right through to the more experienced athletes.

Along with the Junior Golf Academy, Lynwood has also created a Cadet Program that runs on Saturday afternoons – another initiative that focuses on introducing kids to the game of golf and provides them with the opportunity to learn basic skills in a fun, friendly environment.

“It is so rewarding to see the growth and development of children in our golfing community. We have many talented juniors in our academy giving our more experienced golfers a real run for their money!”, Mr Bailey added.
