A grey jeep was travelling northbound on Old Windsor Road and attempted to turn right onto Samantha Riley Drive, Kellyville. The driver’s erratic behaviour, including driving at an unusually slow speed and swerving, prompted other vehicles to overtake her.
A concerned witness followed the vehicle and contacted emergency services.
According to the Police, the vehicle continued eastbound on Samantha Riley Drive and eventually stopped at the traffic lights at the intersection of James Mileham Drive. The vehicle then turned right and came to a stop on James Mileham Drive, Kellyville.
Police arrived on the scene at 4:11 PM and requested a roadside breath sample from the driver.
Despite allegedly being given ten attempts, the driver failed to provide a satisfactory sample.
The driver was subsequently arrested and transported to Castle Hill Police Station, where a breath analysis was conducted. The test returned a result of 0.3268 grams of alcohol per 210 litres of breath, significantly exceeding the legal limit.
The driver has been charged with driving under the influence High Range, and drive whilst disqualified and will face court proceedings next month.
