International Womens Day Events

March 6th, Baulkham HIlls 11.45am to 2.30pm
Hills Community Aid is partnering with Mind Connections Foundation/The Women’s Shed Hills Shire to host an International Womens Day African Drumming Celebration.

The event will run from 11.45am to 2.30pm on Thursday 6th March at the Balcombe Heights Estate, 92 Seven Hills Rd, Baulkham Hills, opposite Jasper Road School. Angela from Drumbeats will be leading the communal celebration at Thompson Hall and there will be light refreshments.

March 7th, Norwest 7am
A powerhouse breakfast is promised at Norwest when four female leaders in their field speak at a special IWD breakfast hosted by Norwest Sunrise Rotary Club.

Speakers are:
• Melissa Monteiro: CEO, Community Migrant Resource Centre: a visionary leader, advocate, and changemaker dedicated to empowering communities and driving social impact.

• Dr Nicole Pearce: CEO of Aged Care Consultancy Australia is a highly respected nurse, gerontologist, and consultant who continues to advocate in federal and international policy areas for aged care and disability.

• Azita Abdollahian: CEO of The Project of You and the Founder and Executive Director of the Shining Light Foundation which works with the homeless. Azita is an author, coach, mentor, global DEI advocate and community leader.

• Ubah Gabris: National Deputy Chair Westpac Respect is a passionate leader, advocate, and social impact strategist dedicated to empowering communities and fostering inclusivity.

The event is being held at Hills Shire Café, The Hills Shire Council Chambers, 3 Columbia Court, Baulkham Hills. Tickets are $35 which includes breakfast and tea/coffee.

Saturday, March 8th Norwest
An inspirational dinner is on the cards at an International Women’s Day event organised by three women’s organisations: CWA Castle Hill, BPW Sydny and Powerful, Empowered Women.

The event titled: Empower, Inspire, Lead will be at Rydges Norwest 5pm for a 5.30pm start.

As well as a keynote speaker there will be a panel discussion on Women’s Empowerment. There will be cultural entertainment and a two-course dinner.
