On Wednesday, 24th July 2024, Police attached to the Hawkesbury Highway Patrol were requested to assist paramedics who were enabled to respond for urgent assistance to treat a critically ill patient at the Hawkesbury Hospital.

The highway patrol officers responded to an urgent request and were able to secure a safe location promptly at McQuade Park, Windsor. This allowed Paramedics to land their aircraft safely and be transported to Hawkesbury Hospital with haste to treat the critically ill patient.

Highway patrol officers often work closely with NSW Ambulance and other emergency agencies in times of need and often require a swift response to help save lives. On this occasion, Police were able to assist paramedics in utilising precious time to respond and treat the patient, preventing crucial time delays and preventing their condition from worsening as a result of any delays.
