House Fire

House Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) crews have used a ladder platform to get to the seat of a fire in a two-storey house overnight at Carlingford.

A family of five safely made its own way out of the home when the fire broke out just after midnight.

Fire crews on scene in Wondabah Place discovered smoke issuing from the roof.

The firefighters used the ladder platform (cherry picker) to access the roof from above while crews entered the home in breathing apparatus to access the roof space through the ceiling.

The fire was contained to the roof area.

The home suffered smoke, heat and water damage.

The cause of the blaze is being determined.

Superintendent Adam Dewberry from Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) said this is a timely reminder that calling Triple Zero (000) for a fire emergency can be the difference between life and death, or a building or other property being saved or destroyed.

The Triple Zero (000) service is the quickest way to get the right resources from emergency services to help you.

It should be used to contact Police, Fire or Ambulance services in life-threatening or time-critical situations.
