HKCC Celebrates 100 Years

Julian with HKCC Principal Inga Rosenberg.

For a century, Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community College has stood as a beacon of opportunity, inclusion and transformation in our community.

HKCC has played a central role in adult and community education across our region, not only responding to educational needs, but actively shaping what community learning looks like both locally and nationally.

Today, the College supports over 1,600 students annually, with more than 5,000 enrolments in 2024.

What makes HKCC so special is its commitment to people who have been left behind by traditional pathways – those who left school early, parents returning to work, migrants starting again in a new country, and many others working to create better futures for themselves, their families and their communities.

HKCC’s teachers and staff are dedicated to helping each student succeed. They adapt their teaching, meet students where they are, and foster confidence as well as skills. This personal, flexible approach has helped thousands of local people build careers, find new opportunities, and contribute more fully to our community.

Congratulations to Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Community College on an extraordinary 100 years of service. May the next hundred years be marked by the same spirit; a belief in people, a passion for learning, and a deep commitment to our community.
