Hills Harmony Chorus

Hills Harmony Chorus has been meeting again being an active participant in the local community in 2022 under the direction of a new music director Diane Jenkins.

In early May the chorus was part of the entertainment at the Heritage Week open day at Bella Vista Farm.

One of our members narrated The Story of MaryWade. The chorus sang a couple of well-known Australian songs with the Hills Shire Symphony Wind Ensemble.

3 weeks later Hills Harmony was privileged to be part of the entertainment for the Relay for Life at the Castle Hill Showground.

A photograph shows the chorus in the Harvey Lowe Pavilion On the 4th June the chorus travelled to Canberra to participate in the Barbershop Harmony Australia Eastern Region contest. It was last held live in 2019 so it was great to see friends again from choruses across the state,.

In addition to competing in the chorus section Hills Harmony had 2 quartets competing in the open men’s and senior’s categories.

It was pleasing that both quartets medaled. First Edition was placed first in the seniors and 4th in the men’s open section. Vintage Fusion, which was a new quartet, came a creditable second. Our tenor Steve Aquino was in both quartets so scored a gold and silver.

On 14 June the chorus was the entertainment at Castle Ridge Resort to celebrate the birthday of a resident turning 102.

We are always seeking new members and rehearsals are 7.30 pm Thursday nights at Kellyville Anglican Church in President Road Kellyville. Why not come along, have a sing and join in the fun!
