Land for Caddies Creek Stage 2 has been transferred from the NSW Government to The Hills Shire Council, paving the way for new open space and sporting facilities in the area.

Located between Windsor Road, Old Windsor Road and Sanctuary Drive, the land forms part of the Caddies Creek Stage 2 proposal and is expected to deliver new soccer fields and recreational facilities that cater to the area’s growing population.

The transfer supports broader infrastructure and housing plans in the region. Under the agreement, the land has been provided to Council at no cost, allowing the finalisation of a masterplan and future open space development within the precinct.

Stage 2 of the Caddies Creek Reserve proposal includes soccer fields set to become the home of the Hills Football Development Academy. Council is currently reviewing expressions of interest for an on-site football partner.

In addition, a new park adjoining the site has been delivered under the Sydney Metro line, supported by $4.3 million in NSW Government funding through the Parks for People program. The Beaumont Hills park features a BMX pump track, informal sports courts, a street-style skate area, walking and cycling tracks, and artworks by local artist Brad Eastman (Beastman).

Originally acquired for rail infrastructure by the Planning Ministerial Corporation over 16 years ago, the land is now being repurposed to support local recreation.

Member for Riverstone Warren Kirby said the transfer responds to long-standing community calls to activate the land for public use.

Mayor of The Hills Shire Dr Michelle Byrne welcomed the announcement, describing it as a milestone in providing new sporting infrastructure.

“We’ve already accepted the tender for detailed designs for Stage Two,” she said. “This project supports our vision to build a dedicated football hub and meet the needs of our growing population.”

Construction updates and timelines will be shared as planning progresses.
