Hills Bulls Plan A Long Lasting Legacy
The Hills Bulls, one of the most successful rugby league clubs in The Hills District, is launching Our Club, Our Legacy campaign, to raise $350,000 for their new clubhouse in Baulkham Hills.
The official launch is on Sunday, April 13, at their Crestwood Oval headquarters, at 2pm.
The club expansion includes a level 1 clubhouse and a multi-purpose function room which will be a valued asset for the Bulls for many years to come. The Bulls have already completed Stage 1, incorporating a new canteen and suspended slab over the existing facilities in preparation for the new clubhouse. The completed gym has been named in honour of club stalwart and sponsor, Paul ‘Griffo’ Griffin, who died tragically last November.
Club president Michael Gremmo said they are reaching out to current and past members to make this a very successful campaign.
“We are very proud of what our club has achieved over the past 62 years and we want to leave a lasting legacy for the future generations who will patronise our wonderful club,” Gremmo said.
Since the club was mooted over a few beers at the iconic Bull & Bush Hotel in Baulkham Hills in 1963, the Hills Bulls have gone from strength to strength, having had their first season in 1964.
Fast forward to 2025, and the club boasts more than 7000 players, officials and parents, providing them with a phenomenally-strong foundation to grow the game further in the Hills. The club is a formidable force in the Ron Massey and Sydney Shield competitions, with visitors dreading to confront the Bulls, specially at home.
There are 43 boys and girls teams, six girls league tag teams, 660 junior and senior players, with a remarkable 4500 players involved in Oztag, where the Bulls are setting the bar in different age groups in national and state competitions.
Gremmo said this is the perfect opportunity for all past and current members to be a part of the club’s next significant milestone and create a legacy for years to come.
“Our challenge is to raise $350,000 to help complete the clubhouse, which is part of the $850,000 required,” he said.
The rest of the financing will come via government grants and other revenue streams. Gremmo said members can contribute through donations, competitions, raffles, and other fundraising activities.
