Hawkesbury Regional Museum School Holiday Events – Summer 2024
School holidays are no exception to stop learning a bit. The Hawkesbury Museum in Windsor offers a set of upcoming activities starting January 2024 during the mid-summer months.
While accompanied by an adult, kids can attend not just the permanent displays in the Museum but three interactive workshops as well. Fun activities are not in short supply as all three cost $15 each and will be facilitated by an experienced museum and art educator.
On Thursday, 18 January next year, children ages 4 – 7 years old can create colourful dinosaurs in ‘Dinosaurs in 3D’. A ticket can be purchased using Eventbrite here: Dinosaurs in 3D – School Holiday Activity. The activity will begin at 10:00 AM and go until 11:30 AM.
Meanwhile, interested students can learn how to build a rubber-band powered boat using recycled soda bottles in the’ Boat Races’ workshop on the following Thursday, 25 January 2024. Parents or guardians can reserve tickets here: Boat Races – School Holidays. The boat-building will start at 10:00 AM and continue until noon.
Lastly, ‘3, 2, 1…TAKE-OFF!’ offers a RAAF Base Richmond-inspired activity by learning about flying and crafting paper jets with launchers. Online reservations can be made via Eventbrite: 3, 2, 1…TAKE-OFF! – School Holiday Activity. The event will run from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM.
The series of workshops is part of the next set of activities by the Hawkesbury LMG (Library, Museum, and Gallery), introducing a wide range of relevant activities.
All the materials are provided, and students can take their artwork home. The Museum is located at 8 Baker Street in Windsor.
