Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium Facelift

Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium in South Windsor has had a facelift thanks to Council funding and coordinating a full external paint job, cladding renewal, awnings, rainwater systems and a new main switchboard.

The works were completed over the past 12 months with around $115,000 spent on the improvements.

Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium is owned by Council and managed and operated by YMCA NSW.

The Stadium is a great place to get fit and healthy, according to the Mayor of Hawkesbury, Councillor Mary Lyons-Buckett.

“Hawkesbury Indoor Stadium is our local community recreation centre that offers indoor sports such as basketball, netball, soccer, and even a multi-sports program,” the Mayor said.

“It also offers recreational gymnastics, holiday sports clinics, space for events, market stalls, national, state and local sporting tournaments.

“As well as getting fit, joining means you staying connected, so you can go in for exercise but also stay for a chat and enjoy a snack at the cafe,” she said.

YMCA funds and operates Brightside, a program which promotes exercise as a recovery mechanism for people with a mental illness. The Stadium also runs regularly its own SportAbility programs which are sports clinics aimed for people with disabilities.

The Stadium also has an outdoor dining area with shade sail to enjoy the spring weather, as well as a car park with night lighting.
