Gang Show’s Dare to Dream

The Cumberland Gang Show returns to the Parramatta Riverside Theatres this July school holidays with its spectacular new production, Dare to Dream!

Audiences will be treated to dazzling song and dance numbers, laugh-out-loud comedy, and the rich sound of a 20-piece live orchestra. With cutting-edge digital theatre effects, stunning sets, and eye-catching costumes.

David Shaw says it’s not to be missed: “Dare to Dream is set to be our most exciting production yet.

“Get ready for two hours of high- energy, feel-good entertainment that the whole family will love.”

Each year, Gang Show provides hundreds of young Scouts and Guides with hands-on training and mentorship as they learn to write, stage, and perform a full-scale theatrical production.

Rob Lang, Producer and Director, says “A musical variety performance like Gang Show has something for everyone – from stunning harmonies and incredible dance routines to laugh out loud comedy. But one thing we can guarantee is that our audiences are going to be blown away by our brand new show that demonstrates what happens when our 150 enthusiastic young cast Dare to Dream.”

Tristan Horntra who leads the Production Team said “The most rewarding part of Gang Show for me is watching our cast grow in confidence, teamwork, and performance skills. This year’s theme, Dare to Dream, truly shines through as we see them take on new challenges and achieve things they never thought possible”

The 2025 Gang Show is packed with fun, music, and imagination. Taking audiences from the Aussie outback to Barbie wonderland, singing in the shower, and even to where the Wild Things are. There’s a special UV number and a Riverside Theatre tribute too. With original sketches and songs by Scouts and Guides, plus hits from Jason Mraz, Lady Gaga, Aqua, Rihanna and more.

Senior cast member Eloise values the skills and confidence she has built after performing in the Gang Show for a number of years: “I love being in Cumberland Gang Show because it’s such a fun and supportive environment where I’ve made amazing friends and unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.”

Volunteering is an important way of supporting her children, says Helen: “I have had the amazing opportunity to build friendships with other like minded adults, who have a passion to help and see children have the most amazing time while thriving and building confidence in their abilities.”
