Grants To Support 2025 Hills Initiatives

Community groups and not-for-profit organisations across The Hills are now invited to apply for grants through The Hills Shire Council’s largest annual funding program, supporting projects that deliver social, cultural, economic or recreational benefits to the local area.

The 2025 round includes three funding streams, with updates to the grant application process introduced to improve transparency, accessibility and fairness under Council’s revised Grants Policy.

Available Grants

Community Grants

  • Funding range: $1,000 to $30,000
  • For initiatives that align with one of Council’s priority areas and benefit residents of The Hills Shire
  • Open to incorporated not-for-profit or registered charitable organisations
  • Closes: Sunday, 3 August 2025

Arts, Culture and Events Grants

  • Funding range: $5,000 to $30,000
  • For projects delivering arts, cultural or event opportunities in the region
  • Open to not-for-profit, incorporated, charitable or for-profit organisations providing services to Hills residents
  • Closes: Sunday, 3 August 2025

Minor Grants

  • Funding range: $100 to $1,000
  • Open all year or until funds are exhausted
  • Available only to local not-for-profit and/or registered charitable organisations

Support and Information

Free training sessions will be offered to assist applicants with preparing their submissions. These sessions will cover eligibility, the application process, and tips for a strong proposal.

Training session dates:

  • Thursday, 10 July at 6:30pm
  • Tuesday, 22 July at 6:30pm
    Location: Council’s Administration Building, 3 Columbia Court, Norwest

Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne encouraged community groups to get involved, highlighting the value of local-led initiatives.

“Council is incredibly proud to provide financial support for local initiatives that improve services, encourage positive social, economic, and cultural outcomes, and promote community participation,” she said.

“We’ve simplified the application process to make it even easier to apply, as well as fairer for everyone.”
