Free author talk – Minnie Biggs

Kurrajong resident Minnie Biggs will talk about her latest novel, Shards of Ice, at Hawkesbury Central Library on Friday 25 August, 6pm to 7:30pm.

The book entwines her travels to Antarctica and the Red Desert as well as experiences of illness, dying and bereavement. Shards of Ice is Minnie’s first memoir and was written after she sailed to Antarctica to getaway from the painful memories of losing her husband of 47 years.

Minnie wrote her first book when she was thirteen and has been writing ever since. She has also writtenabout food for the prize-winning Simple Cooking, essays on spirituality, music reviews and poems.
