Explosion at North Kellyville
At approximately 8.49pm on Saturday 1st January 2022, emergency services were called to report an explosion and structure alight in North Kellyville.
Whilst on route Kellyville RFS crews reported large volumes of black smoke could be seen issuing from the area. On arrival, crews found the rear of a single storey structure well alight.
Fire crews immediately got to work to contain the fire at the rear of the property, in turn saving the main part of the home.
There was extensive damage to the alfresco and rear part of the home caused by a bbq gas fire. The intensity of the fire caused some heat damage to a neighbouring property. Thankfully there were no injuries to any occupants of the home.
Once the fire was contained NSW Rural Fire Service crews remained on the scene for some time to ensure the property was fully overhauled. A fantastic interagency effort from all services on the scene.
