According to NRMA Insurance’s Wild Weather Tracker, three in four (72%) Australians say they are worried that natural disasters such as bushfires, floods, and severe storms happen more frequently and stronger than before. One in three Australians (32%) say they don’t have a good understanding of extreme weather risks in their local area, and only 26% have an emergency plan.
NRMA Insurance Chief Customer and Marketing Officer Michelle Klein said: “Our research shows 39% of Australians do not feel prepared to respond to extreme weather. Through these workshops we want to help Hills Shire residents better understand their local risks and provide the information and tools to get prepared,” Michelle said.
The workshop is part of NRMA Insurance’s Help Nation initiative, aimed at uniting people and preparing them to know their local risks.
