Bowling News: Phil Laing defeated Mike Keane 25-15 in the Men’s Major Singles final for the second successive year on Saturday, November 9.
Coincidentally, this was the identical score that Phil beat off Mike’s challenge last year.
The game was much closer than the score indicated with the lead changing many times throughout the final. Mike was leading 14-12 at one stage, then Phil found the right line and length and managed to score 13 shots whilst Mike could only manage one.
Terri Hezlett prevailed in the Ladies Major Singles final on Tuesday, November 12 in a very competitive game against Lyn Luxford. Terri overcame Lyn 25-23. As the score indicates, the lead changed many times during the game keeping everyone on edge.
The club extends its congratulations to Phil and Terri and commiserations to Mike and Lyn. The next event for the Dural Bowling Club will be the presentation day and Christmas lunch on Saturday, December 14.
