Diwali Lights Up
A free festival to celebrate Diwali … the ancient Hindu Festival celebrating the victory of light over darkness will be held at Bella Vista later this month.
The Community Migrant Resource Centre (CMRC) has joined forces with Landcom to stage the annual Light Up Bella Vista celebration at the pocket park next to Bella Vista Metro Station. The fun will run from 5pm to 8pm on Sunday, October 13th.
The annual event brings people from all backgrounds together for an evening filled with food, music, dancing, and lights with a grand finale of electric fireworks by Guru productions.
Entertainment during the evening includes a children’s fashion show by Divine Sparkles, interactive Bollywood dancing with Nikhil’s Dance Group, DJ AJ, diya painting and Rangoli colouring by CMRC, henna art and a demonstration by an Abacus guru on the power of traditional Indian Abacus and Vedic maths.
As well as stalls and food trucks there will be a special staging of The Spirit of Diwali by Bollywood Mantra 4U: a visual journey exploring the stories that define Diwali.
