Hills Seniors Groups: Get Together to Travel

The past five years have been tough for quite a few community groups. Organisations such as Senior’s clubs like Probus saw a drop in membership due to Covid resulting in some clubs around the country folding.

Cost of living pressures and inflation have also seen some reduction in what the clubs have to offer members.

In the Hills however three Senior’s clubs have got together to ensure that interstate and country trips can still go ahead for members. As bus hire for such trips have increased greatly in price since Covid, the three clubs, National Seniors Australia (Hills Branch) that meet at Baulkham Hills, the Kellyville-Castle Hill Mixed Probus Club and the Hills Friendship Club which meets at Castle Hill have joined together to ensure that such outings can still go forward.

The combined membership of the three organisations helps to ensure that there are enough members to fill a coach for interstate and country trips.

Recently members of the three clubs got together and travelled to Norfolk Island. Their next extended joint holiday is in the process of being finalised where they will visit sights of the Great Ocean Road in Western Victoria. Two of the clubs also welcome new members to join.

The Hills Friendship Club has a restricted membership of a maximum of 70 members and is not currently seeking new members.
