For this summer, kids can participate in Cattai Hills Environment Network’s Native Shadow Drawing at the Community Environment Centre on Friday, 19 January 2024.

Kids from 2 to 12 years old can have the opportunity to release their creative energy and come up with native shadow drawings drawn from wandering at the Environment Centre in Annangrove and seeing native plants.

“Come and join us at the Community Environment Centre in Annangrove to partake in a fun children’s activity based on the discovery of art in nature!” the announcement indicated.

“As we sit in the sunshine, we will read a book!”

“We will wander through the gardens and find shapes, colours and textures of interest to use in our native shadow artworks!”

The event is free of charge and will begin at 10:00 AM and end at 11:30 AM. Interested participants can register online via Eventbrite: Kids Native Shadow Drawing!

According to Cattai Hills Environment Network, the event is funded by WentWest Ltd via a well-being grant. WentWest is a not-for-profit organization based in Westmead that focuses on things such as community-building, empowerment and healthcare and collaborates with the Local Government Areas of Blacktown, Cumberland, Parramatta, and the Hills Shire.
