Catholic Healthcare’s MacKillop House Norwest is Thriving

Just six months after officially opening in November 2021, Mackillop House Norwest in the heart of Sydney’s Hills District is truly thriving.

Eileen, the Catholic Healthcare residential aged care home’s very first resident, is thoroughly enjoying her new surroundings and lifestyle.

“I really appreciate the fact that the home is so close to my family, so that they can visit me whenever they like,” Eileen says. “The rooms are airy and light, and there are plenty of green areas and spaces to relax in and enjoy.”

The architect-designed home has been designed to foster a sense of community, featuring welcoming lounge areas, an onsite café, salon and exercise spaces to complement the spacious ensuite rooms.

There’s also a wide array of lifestyle programs to keep residents at Mackillop House engaged. Eileen particularly enjoys cooking and baking, so she regularly joins in the cakedecorating classes. Other activities on offer include exercise classes, arts and crafts and regular bus excursions. Residents have recently enjoyed skittles, bingo and seasonal activities for Easter, St Patrick’s Day and more.
