Castle Towers’ Vision
QIC, owners of Castle Towers, has confirmed it has lodged a rezoning review with NSW Planning for a sizeable piece of land it owns bordering Kentwell Avenue, Showground Road and Pennant Street Castle Hill.
The proposal is for 11 residential towers, a total of 1410 total dwellings, with towers ranging between 10 and 26 storeys. A spokesman said the majority will be below 14 storeys.
The proposal will be decided by a Planning Panel, it is hoped that the hearing in late-March. QIC has been operating Castle Towers for 35 years.

Sydney is experiencing a significant shortage of well-located housing, and this site is ideally placed to contribute to the solution.
“QIC’s Planning Proposal has the capacity to deliver significant benefits to The Hills’ community and deliver well-located housing supported by infrastructure.
“That responsibility includes considering what services and facilities will meet the needs of the growing community, while attracting the best in business, lifestyle and education to Castle Hill.”
• 1,410 dwellings within close (400m) walking distance to a Sydney Metro station, regional shopping centre, schools, local services and dining/entertainment precincts.
• Capacity for 22,000m2 of employmentgenerating floorspace to facilitate local employment opportunities.
• Additional retail services and dining options together with childcare and medical facilities to service the local community
• Delivery of the new Woodward Indoor Sports Centre as an early activator of the precinct.
• A new 3,500 square metre public park to meet the needs of the wider community.
• Construction of new public roads, footpaths, cycleways, street tree planting and associated infrastructure.
• Contributions towards the delivery of local infrastructure.
QIC already has two Development Applications to be decided by the Sydney Central Planning Panel. The $560m development proposal submitted in April 2023 includes a 210-room hotel and 12-storey commercial building as part of The VIllage plan and The Woodward sports facility.
The Village will host more than 70 new stores including distinguished homegrown designers as well as global brands. The 17-storey luxury hotel will have a rooftop pool and bar.
The Woodward Sydney sports centre is a big coup for the area. It will be a world-class indoor facility for skateboarding, BMX, scooter, snowboarding, skiing, aerial awareness, rock climbing and bouldering.
The purpose-built premises will cover three levels with a building footprint of 3,650m .
Originally founded in 1970 in Pennsylvania, Woodward has grown to be the global leader in action sports progression with multiple destinations across the US. To date, 48 Olympic medals have been won by former Woodward athletes and guest pros as well as 125 medals in other professional contests.
The Castle Hill premises will be the first overseas Woodward centre.
