Update on Peel Park Bmx Track Closure

Testing has confirmed that fragments which were buried beneath the surface of the track are asbestos.

The risk to public health is considered very low, however the BMX Track will remain CLOSED. Council staff are currently seeking quotations for the removal of soil at the site.

Council is working with the Redbank, who will be upgrading Peel Park as part of a Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA), regarding the reinstatement/development of a new BMX facility as part of the upgrade.
