Australia Day 2024 Celebrations at Waves and Bella Vista Farm
The Hills Shire Council invites residents to celebrate Australia Day at the Bella Vista Farm and Waves Fitness and Aquatic Centre on Friday, 26th January 2024.
The celebration at the Aquatic Centre begins at 10:00 AM and continues to 3:00 PM, featuring a free barbecue for the first 2000 members and poolside entertainment. While general prices for entry apply, all the activities are free, the Council mentioned.
According to the Council, “the pool party includes an inflatable obstacle course in the 50-metre Olympic-sized swimming pool, a DJ and roving performers.”
On the other hand, the activities at the Bella Vista Farm feature two live stages from 2012 X-Factor winner Samantha Jade, Dorothy the Dinosaur & Friends, Junkyard Beats, Tequila Mockingbird, and other local groups.
In addition to an evening of music and performances, there will be free activities like face painting, roving entertainment and displays, as well as stallholders, various food trucks and cheap rides for thrillseekers. A fireworks display will top it all off as its finale. 
Entrance to the Bella Vista Farm is free. The Australia Day event at the Farm will be from 4:30 PM until 9:00 PM.
A feast of different food is expected to give Australians a bit of everything. These include stalls that will offer dumplings, ice cream, slushies, churros, coffee, tea, gozleme, sausage sizzle, biryani rice, burgers, fried chicken, nachos, grilled cheese, fairy floss, and more.
Hills Shire Mayor Peter Gangemi believes Australia is the greatest nation in the world and has so much to celebrate.
“Australia Day doesn’t get any better than top-class entertainment and marking our national day alongside our fellow residents at The Farm,” Mayor Gangemi mentioned.
“Our diverse assortment of entertainment, food, rides and activities, capped off by fireworks will ensure there’s something for everyone.
“Bella Vista Farm provides the perfect backdrop to celebrate our nation. Bring a picnic blanket and soak up the spirit of Australia Day in this stunning heritage location.”
“Not everyone has a backyard pool, but that doesn’t mean that our residents should miss out on a poolside Australia Day party,” Mayor Gangemi said.
“Our Australia Day barbecue at Waves will include a free sausage sizzle, a DJ spinning Aussie classics and inflatable fun in our 50-metre pool.”
Amidst reports of a publication adding the Hills Council to the list of Councils that will not participate in Australia Day, Hills Shire Mayor Dr Peter Gangemi clarified that there will be celebrations at two locations in the Hills Shire.
The Waves Fitness & Aquatic Centre is located at 44 Mileham Avenue in Baulkham Hills, while the Bella Vista Farm is accessible via Elizabeth Macarthur Drive in Bella Vista.
