Have some extra time on the weekend? Visit the Hawkesbury Regional Gallery and listen to The New Quilt 2024 artists on Sunday, 19 May 2024.

Attendees will gain valuable behind-the-scenes insights into the background and processes of the artworks, along with the opportunity to ask the artists themselves and open up interesting conversations. The talk will run from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.

The artists visiting the Gallery on Sunday are Anita Brown, Vivienne Crisell, Judy Hooworth, Suzanne Laird, Alan Tremain, Lisa Walton, Grace Widders, and Alison Winchester.

“The exhibition includes a range of fun, drop-in activities for all ages and creative abilities in our Makerspace,” the Gallery mentioned.

The QuiltNSW said that New Quilt is a juried survey exhibition that aims to showcase the art of quilting. This time around, exhibition goers can expect more than 30 quilts made by contemporary textile artists across Australia, highlighting the rich diversity of stitched and layered materials.”

According to the QuiltNSW, this includes two invitation works by juror-judges Ruth de Vos and Fiona Gavens.

The event is free of charge and can be booked online via Eventbrite: Artists in Conversation—The New Quilt. Light refreshments are provided.
