ANZAC DAY 2025 – Lest we Forget
ANZAC Day stands as one of the most important and solemn days on the Australian calendar — a time to reflect on the courage, sacrifice and service of all those who have worn our nation’s uniform.
This year, we mark 110 years since the landing at Gallipoli, a moment that helped shape Australia’s national identity and brought our people together in a spirit of unity and resilience.
Here in The Hills, ANZAC Day is honoured with great reverence and pride. Each year, thousands from our community gather at dawn services, school assemblies, local RSL ceremonies, and marches — young and old standing side by side in remembrance. The strong turnout and heartfelt participation across our suburbs are a testament to the deep respect our community holds for those who served and those who continue to serve.
Our schools, veterans’ groups, service clubs and local councils work tirelessly to ensure that the legacy of the ANZACs is passed on. The involvement of students and families in these commemorations reflects a growing awareness that this legacy is not just something of the past — it is a solemn duty of gratitude to be carried forward to future generations.
As we gather once again this year to commemorate ANZAC Day in The Hills, let us renew our commitment to honouring those who gave so much for our country.
