As our Hills Mayor often says, one of the reasons our area is so successful is because of the number of selfless volunteers who give many hours of their time each week without expecting anything in return.
Despite that it is nice to receive some recognition which is exactly what Alive FM 90.5 offered to their volunteers on Saturday.
A whole committee under the capable leadership of Angelina Rossi organised an amazing event at Parramatta Leagues Club to celebrate the many contributions of the members who not only keep the station operational with an enormous range of shows, but also do fund raising through Bunnings Barbeques and Outside Broadcasts.
The inspiring co-hosts- Karenza De Leon and Jason Spindlow started the proceedings with an invitation to Welcome to Country (in the car park not the club) and skilfully interspersed awards for Volunteer services and Best Shows with an amazing array of talent including Cook Islands dancers, Opera from Viktoria; Italian from Tony & Julie; Vietnamese instrumental from Ho and Like Angels sang their hearts out. Everyone enjoyed food and drinks and catching up with each other.
The dessert was a $500 cake contributed by Pasticceria Caruso and many wonderful Sponsors helped fill Santa’s sack for distribution at the end of the event. Does it sound like something you’d enjoy? Then why not come and join us at alive905.com.au
