Halloween #ScareCancer family Fundraising events in Hills and surrounds

Hundreds of Aussies are holding Halloween-themed fundraising events around Australia to help raise essential funds as part of Kids with Cancer Foundation’s #ScareCancer October. Funds raised will go towards helping Kids with Cancer Foundation fund essential research for a clinical trial seeking to cure Paediatric Ependymoma – the third most common form of brain cancer in kids.  60 per cent of children diagnosed are under five years old. Devastatingly, one in three children relapse and there are currently no further treatment options.

10 year-old Lucas was diagnosed with ependymoma at just 2 years old, after treatment and surgery his family were so thankful when he was in remission. Lucas still has to have an MRI every year, and his family hold their breathe every year hoping for the all clear. People across Australia are holding fundraising events such as Halloween bake sales, dress up days and morning teas, barbeques, decorating houses and businesses to generate awareness, donations and more.

100 per cent of direct donations made to Kids with Cancer Foundation go towards supporting Kids with Cancer and their families through providing financial support, critical hospital salaries and infrastructure, cancer research, Care Packs, wigs and more. To fund operational costs, Kids with Cancer Foundation runs four $2 ‘Winners Choice’ lotteries each year.
