Garden Club is Springing Back!
Macquarie Towns Garden Club is back on track. This year, the Club has enjoyed speakers on a range of topics, including a talk on bees, and bush care.
A successful plant sale was held in May and members were fascinated by a bonsai demonstration in June. Next year the Club plans to hold another ‘Open Day’ and plant sale which was regularly held at Hawkesbury Central Library in the past.
“We feel like we are finally back in business after two years of disruption because of Covid as well the Hawkesbury floods”, says Club President Ann Chilman.
“Coming up we have speakers on the topic of weeds, and our last meeting, in November will be a talk on iris and bromeliads. Make new friends, hear from expert local growers and speakers, swap ideas and buy new plants (from the ‘Plant Table’)”. According to Ann, not all the members are gardeners, but all of them love plants and gardens.
The Club meets at 2 pm on the first Thursday of the month, in the Tebbutt Room of Hawkesbury Central Library at Windsor. To find out more, visit their website: www.macquarietownsgardenclub.wordpress.com
