Celebrate all things literary this May

The Sydney Writers’ Festival returns to The Hills Shire this May with an author meet and greet.

Singer and writer Holly Throsby will visit Castle Hill Library to discuss her debut novel Goodwood on Wednesday 24 May at 6.30pm.

Ms Throsby’s coming of age novel follows the mystery surrounding the disappearance of two people from a small town and the vicious rumours which soon follow.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Councillor Yvonne Keane said Council was proud to be part of such a premier and prestigious event.

“I am thrilled that the Sydney Writers’ Festival will return to The Hills in 2017, enriching our local community and beyond with the insight, creativity, knowledge and storytelling by a renowned entertainer,” Mayor Keane said.

The Sydney Writers’ Festival (22 May – 28 May) brings together authors of the very best contemporary fiction and writers of cutting edge nonfiction, including some of the world’s leading public intellectuals, scientists and journalists.

The programme is driven by ideas and issues that animate all forms of writing.

To add to celebrations, Dural Library will host an author panel series throughout the month of May.
