NAIDOC Week
Sydney Zoo’s Aboriginal Animal Encounter will offer a great range of experiences at Hills Community Aid’s NAIDOC Week Family Fun Day on Wednesday, 16th July at Baulkham Hills.
There will be an opportunity to meet native Aussie animals up close and hear about their significance in First Nations culture.
The annual NAIDOC Week free Family Fun day will start at 9.50am (July 16th) with a traditional Acknowledgement of Country, Flag Raising, and Smoking Ceremony, followed by a day filled with cultural celebrations and family-friendly activities plus Youth and Family Workshops.
Visitors can experience Indigenous-themed arts and crafts, embark on a fun treasure hunt with prizes, and enjoy the jumping castle.
There will be information stalls, including representatives from the RFS, AFL, and local emergency services. Norwest Sunrise Rotary Club will be cooking a sausage sizzle and beverages will be available from the Hills Daily Grind coffee van.
The event will also be an open day for Learning in the Hills with classroom displays showcasing student art.
Hills Community Aid will also offer a range of free and affordable youth and family workshops over the school holidays including drawing and painting workshops, board games, a scavenger hunt and sports workshop. More info visit www.hca.org.au or call 9639 8620.
