2026 Waste and Recycling Calendar Photo Competition

Imagine your stunning image gracing the walls of homes across The Hills, a daily reminder of the area’s special character. This is your chance to visually narrate what makes The Hills so captivating, whether it’s the sweeping natural landscapes or the thoughtfully designed urban spaces.

The Mayor of The Hills Shire encourages all local residents with a passion for photography to participate and contribute their artistic vision to this community project. The aim is to curate a collection of photographs that truly embody the essence and allure of the Shire.

A panel of discerning judges will carefully review all submissions, ultimately selecting thirteen exceptional images to be showcased in the annual calendar. One standout photograph will earn the prestigious spot on the front cover, while the remaining twelve will each represent a month of the year.

Exciting prizes await the talented photographers. The creator of the coveted front cover image will receive a $100 Coles/Myer gift card. Additionally, each of the twelve monthly feature winners will be rewarded with a $50 Coles/Myer gift card.

To be eligible, entrants must be residents of The Hills Local Government Area. All submitted photographs must have been taken within the Shire in the past two years. The subject matter can encompass the natural beauty or the architectural highlights of the region, but please note that photographs should not include any people or recognizable faces.
