More than 120 teams have already signed up for the 17th annual Hills Relay For Life at Castle Hill Showground on May 19.

The major community event raises money for cancer research and Cancer Council support programs but also remembers loved ones. Despite it’s name Relay For Life is not a race but a place to walk, talk and be with friends and family.

The first lap at 10:00 AM on May 19 is for survivors and carers which will be followed by a morning tea supplied by Soroptimist International of the Hills. As well as a packed program of on-stage entertainment there will be activities on the Fightback Field plus a climbing wall, bowling, putt putt and tennis.

In the afternoon there will be a Castle Towers sponsored hat and brollie parade plus a Sunsafe Slip, Slap Slop, Slide relay. The candlelight service of remembrance will be at 6:00 PM. The retro band the Breakaways will perform at 9:00 PM and there will be a silent disco during the night.

Royal watchers will be able to see the Royal Wedding in the Laser Electrical “Lounge” where the FA cup final will also be shown. There will be a variety of food available during the 24 hour event including international food.
