Ellerman Child Care Centre’s $75,000 renovation

A $75,000 outdoor renovation is soon to be completed at Ellerman Child Care Centre to enhance the much-loved day care facility.

Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne said families could expect to find the open space areas at the Centre updated and improved for children to continue to play and dream big.

“The outdoor area is an integral part of children’s learning and development, so it is essential to maintain an outdoor space that offers unique play possibilities and an abundance of exploration, discovery and spatial awareness,” Mayor Byrne said.

“Furthermore, an outdoor area needs to be inviting and aesthetically pleasing, which is exactly what’s happened at Ellerman.

“The soft-fall, the bike path, the sandstone edging and much-needed drainage is a welcome upgrade for the children as the warmer weather approaches and the outdoor area becomes more frequently visited and explored,” Mayor Byrne added.

Ellerman Child Care Centre is a not-for-profit service for children aged from six weeks to five years.

The Council owned Centre has a limited number of vacancies still available in the two to three years old group and preschool room.

To make an enquiry, visit The Hills Shire Council website (www.thehills.nsw.gov.au) and search for ‘Ellerman Child Care Centre – Dural’ in the search bar.

There you will find an electronic vacancy enquiry form, which you can fill out and send at a click of a button.
