It was a weekend of action at Hawkesbury Indoor Sports Centre where 186 athletes from 12 teams across the state played their first weekend of the Spalding Waratah Under 20s Tournament on the 4th & 5th of February.
The tournament was designed to help bridge the gap between the Junior and Senior competition, giving opportunities for teams to give players aged out of juniors to still compete at a high level and build a stronger pathway for senior competition.
The two days saw high-flying action, massive blocks, and great player participation.
The teams compete over the 18th and 19th of February for the final weekend at Niagara Park Stadium, where Sunday will have the top two teams in each pool compete for a grand final spot.
