Sing The Anthem At The Hills Shire Council

Are you an enthusiastic local singer?

Council is looking for additional performers from across The Hills to sing the Australian national anthem before Council meetings.

Hills Shire Mayor Dr Michelle Byrne said that while the councillors were enthusiastic singers, there were many locals that could do a much better job.

“The national anthem is always sung in the Chamber with gusto, but I don’t think any of our Councillors or staff would turn chairs if they were auditioning for The Voice,” Mayor Byrne said.

“Council appreciates and acknowledges the commitment of our existing performers who volunteer to sing the anthem on a regular basis.”

“I’m hoping that some more singers from around The Hills will put their hand up to join us at Council meetings and complement those who already perform.”

To volunteer to sing the anthem at Council meetings, call Council’s Public Officer on (02) 9843 0122.
