YOUNG ANZAC VOICES

High School students have been a huge part of ANZAC Day in the Hills since The ANZAC Secondary School Ambassador Program started in 2015 to mark Centenary of the Gallipoli landing.

This year’s ambassadors, Max Williams from Northholm Grammar; Lillian White from Crestwood High; Alejandro Astudillo from Oakhill College, and Tahlee Arthur from Castle Hill High have prepared talks about the four Australians who won the Victoria Cross in Afghanistan for ANZAC Day 2020.

Due to the restrictions on gatherings their video addresses will be streamed on both the Castle Hill RSL Facebook and the Castle Hill RSL sub-branch Facebook pages at 8am and 3pm on S aturday, April 25.

Army Cadet Corporal and Baulkham Hills High School student Suveka Jeyakanthan will deliver the ode at both those times and also at sunset at 5.21pm this Saturday, April 25.

Castle Hill RSL Sub-branch President David Hand said the sub-branch would continue supporting the “valuable” program.

“We are encouraged by the number of young people who want to be part of this program and the quality of their submissions,” he said.

“These young people will ensure that the ANZAC Legacy lives on.”
