The Gracewood Community is an award-winning retirement village in Kellyville. The village comprises of 241 apartments across eight architecturally-designed residences. It also has a range of first-class amenities, including an indoor-heated pool, cafe, workshop, hair salon and more.
“With the final stage having opened last year, it won’t be long now until every apartment is occupied,” Sales Manager Alison Abel said. “We have seen a huge increase in inquiries post-Covid and we expect the village to be sold out in a matter of weeks.”
Alison explained that a recent industry event highlighted there is a shortage of retirement living homes in the pipeline for construction nationally over the next few years.
Many of Australia’s Baby Boomer generation are now at or beyond retirement age and NSW retirement villages are at 90 per cent occupancy. Currently, that means future supply is unlikely to meet future demand.
“This comes as a surprise to many people I meet who think they will have a choice of options when they are ready for retirement living,” Alison said. “Sadly, this is a big misconception and many people often miss out.”
This means even higher demand for villages like The Gracewood which has multiple levels of on-site care services available – including an aged care home – meaning their residents are able to stay in the community they’ve come to know and love for as long as they wish.
The team at The Gracewood pride themselves on the community they have created.
“There is an incredibly strong sense of unity and communality that comes from like-minded residents caring and looking out for each other,” Alison said. “There’s always something happening from bus trips to happy hour to craft groups.”
The Gracewood Community is booking private appointments for anyone wishing to tour their village and find out more about the remaining apartments.
